My favourite chocolate chip cookies

my first time in new york city we stayed at the chambers hotel on w56th street, every morning and i think every night we stopped by momofuko milk bar and i became obsessed with the delicious creations by christina tosi, she cooks with this sense of nostaglia, all the things we grew up with and christina turns them in to some amazing dessert that takes you back to your childhood. no one back home made anything like it, so i purchased a couple of her cookbooks so I could satisfy my cravings.

Nothing beats a good chocolate chip cookie, they have to be gooey and full of chocolate. this recipe is super easy and tastes every bit worth the calories consumed.

ingredients:

225g melted butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 granulated sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 3/4 cups plain flour

2 tbs non fat milk powder

1 1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

340g chocolate - roughly chopped

method:

oven at 190 degrees celsius, line 2 baking trays with baking paper

mix butter and both sugars in a bowl until homogenous, then add egg and vanilla and stir until combined. Add in the flour, milk powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix until just combined, fold through the chocolate.

portion a heaped tablespoon full of mixture on the baking paper, leave a space about 2 inches between them.

bake for about 10-12 mins or until golden on the edges. cool before eating as you will burn your mouth on the melted chocolate, serve with your favourite coffee.
